Big sporting events worldwide run smoothly because hundreds and thousands of people make time to help behind the scenes, and in 2024, the Social Circle community gained one of those most prolific volunteers. Formerly a Gray resident, longtime sports enthusiast Allen “Al” Marsh moved to the area a few years ago, and in turn, brought his historic legacy with him. Marsh, a University of Colorado graduate, fell in love with sports volunteering back in 1996 when the Summer Olympics were held in Atlanta.
